Scuba Diving in Kushimoto, Japan – Refresher and Fun Dives with International Guests

A Perfect Start to the Three-Day Holiday in Kushimoto!

The first day of Japan's three-day holiday started with beautiful weather and excellent sea conditions♪

We were fully booked today, welcoming guests from the United States, Costa Rica, and Japan!

Since the beginning of October, we've been welcoming more and more international guests to our dive shop.

Today was another international diving day, with refresher diving, fun diving, and Discover Scuba Diving all on the schedule!

Back Underwater After Two Years! Refresher Diving in Kushimoto

In the morning, I went refresher diving with a guest who had traveled all the way from Costa Rica.

It had been two years since his last dive, so we started with a beach dive to review some essential scuba diving skills.

We practiced everything from mask clearing to neutral buoyancy.

At first, maintaining neutral buoyancy seemed a little challenging. But by the end of the dive, he had regained his confidence and was hovering above the coral while watching the fish!

It made me really happy that someone from a warm tropical country chose Kushimoto, Japan, as the place to start diving again (^^)

At the beach dive site, juvenile fish of various tropical species are continuing to grow.

The two Whitetail damselfish that we've been watching since early summer have grown quite a lot and have become much more comfortable around divers.

When we first found them, they would quickly hide between the coral branches whenever we approached.

Now, they even swim toward us when we point our cameras at them!

I hope we can all become the kind of divers that fish feel safe around!

Afternoon Fun Diving with Guests from Three Countries!

In the afternoon, we headed out for fun diving with our international team from the United States, Costa Rica, and Japan!

Our two international guests met here in Kushimoto and seemed to be exchanging information about their next diving destinations.

It's wonderful to see our dive shop becoming not only a place where Japanese and international divers meet, but also a place where new friendships and connections begin♪

One of my dreams is to make our little dive shop in Kushimoto a place where divers from all over the world can meet and connect.

I'll keep working toward that dream!

Since it was everyone's first time diving in Kushimoto, we focused on introducing some of the marine life that makes this area special.

Beautiful Schools of Fish in Autumn Kushimoto

First, we encountered a school of Yellow goatfish.

As autumn arrives, the schools of fish seem to be getting bigger and bigger!

This might be the best time of year to see them.

During our safety stop, a huge school of mackerel scad swam right past us, almost as if they had come to say hello!

There's so much happening underwater at the moment that even during our safety stops, we don't want to miss a thing!

We Hope to Welcome Even More International Divers Next Year!

We received many inquiries from international travelers for the October holiday weekend.

Unfortunately, we were already fully booked and couldn't accommodate everyone (><)

Next year, I hope we'll be able to welcome even more divers from overseas!

One of our international guests who visited us this year said they might come back to help us next year.

I wonder if they'll really come back...??

Tomorrow, we'll be diving with Japanese guests, splitting into two teams to explore offshore and local dive sites.

Hopefully, the currents won't be too strong at the offshore sites!

Weekdays Are a Great Time to Enjoy Diving in Kushimoto!

We're gradually starting to have more availability on weekdays.

If you prefer a more relaxed diving experience, weekdays are a great choice!

Right now is my favorite time of year for diving in Kushimoto.

We hope you'll come and enjoy the beautiful underwater world with us!
