Fun Diving in Kushimoto – Exploring Boat Dive Sites with Guests from Germany and Japan

Fully Booked Even on a Weekday!

Japan's three-day holiday weekend starts tomorrow!

Even though today was a weekday, we were fully booked! 🙂

A big thank you to everyone who joined us today!!!

Just before the holiday weekend, the breeze felt a little cooler, but the weather was beautiful and the water was still warm. Perfect conditions for diving!

Today, we had an international group with guests from Germany and Japanese guests who have been diving with us since yesterday.

We enjoyed exploring a wide variety of marine life in Kushimoto, from wide-angle scenes to tiny macro creatures.

It had been a while since we last visited the Tomato grouper reef at the seasonal dive site Ando-no-Hana. The schools of fish had grown even bigger♪

With a wide-angle conversion lens, you can capture an even more impressive scene!

This amazing sight is only available until October 19.

If you want to dive at Ando-no-Hana, don't miss your chance!!!

Autumn is the season when we start seeing more juvenile fish.

Today, I found one of my personal favorites, a juvenile Japanese pygmy angelfish!!!

It was an adorable little fish, about 5 cm long.

These little fish are always moving around, so photographing them can be tricky. But if you approach very slowly and gently, they sometimes stop and turn toward you.

We've also been seeing more juvenile Japanese inflator filefish this week. They're another popular subject for underwater photography.

Both Japanese pygmy angelfish and Japanese inflator filegish have English names that include a reference to Japan. Since our guests came all the way to Japan to dive, I just had to show them these fish!!!

Today, we found one against a beautiful background of Wrightella tongaensis 🙂

You can find apanese inflator filegish in many different settings, so try looking for one in your favorite underwater scene!

For our last photo, I tried looking at things from a different perspective and focused on the patterns of a Wrightella tongaensis.

It's not something I usually photograph, but when you take a closer look, the colors and textures are so beautiful that it's hard to believe they're completely natural.

There are so many beautiful things underwater that you only notice when you change your perspective!

Looking at the underwater world this way can make even a familiar dive feel fresh and exciting!

Tomorrow, we have a busy schedule with refresher beach diving, boat diving, and Discover Scuba Diving programs!

Thanks to all our wonderful guests, we're fully booked for all three days of the holiday weekend.

We'll be heading out in two teams to enjoy everything from beach diving to boat diving!

We still have some availability on weekdays in late October!

Autumn in Kushimoto is full of amazing marine life, from schools of fish and adorable juveniles to nudibranchs and other fascinating macro creatures♪

See you underwater!
