Dive Beneath the Drift Ice – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience
Every winter, drift ice arrives along the coast of Shiretoko, Hokkaido. Looking up at the ice from beneath the surface is a truly unique diving experience that can only be enjoyed in a few places in the world.
Our annual Shiretoko Drift Ice Diving Tour has become one of our most popular special events.
This year marks the fourth year of the tour, and we will be offering a slightly different format than before.
From late February to early March, I will be staying in Shiretoko throughout the tour period. You can join the drift ice diving experience on the dates that best fit your travel schedule.
The meeting point will be in Shiretoko.
On the day before your dives, we will hold a briefing and provide information about drift ice diving at your hotel. You can then begin diving the following day.
In previous years, the tour was limited to a fixed 2-day / 4-dive schedule. This year, we are also offering a 1-day participation option.

- ③ 2-Day / 4-Dive Course with Ice Diver Specialty Certification
* The PADI Ice Diver Specialty course is also available. Participation in the 2-day course is required for certification.
Requirements
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) or higher
- Comfortable and experienced with dry suit diving
- No diving break longer than six months
* Full rental equipment packages are not available for this tour.

Tour Period
Weekdays between February 20 and March 6, 2027
* If you would like to participate on weekends or public holidays, please contact us. Depending on the number of participants, arrangements may be possible.
How to Book
- Please contact us with your preferred date, full name, number of participants, total number of logged dives, certification level, and date of your most recent dive.
- A deposit of JPY 20,000 is required to secure your reservation. Your booking will be confirmed once the deposit has been received.
- The remaining balance must be paid by December 25, 2026.
Cancellation Policy
- 20 to 8 days before the tour date: 20%
- 7 to 2 days before the tour date: 30%
- 1 day before the tour date: 40%
- On the tour date or no-show: 100%
Additional Information
- If diving is cancelled due to weather or sea conditions, JPY 6,000 per cancelled dive will be refunded.
- The schedule and diving plans may change depending on weather, sea conditions, and drift ice conditions.
- If your scheduled flight is cancelled due to severe weather or other circumstances beyond your control, the tour fee will be fully refunded.
