Refresher Diving in Kushimoto – Back Underwater After One Year with Guests from Germany

Typhoon No. 26 Swell Arrives in Kushimoto...

It was a rainy morning here in Kushimoto. At times, we had extremely heavy rain that felt almost like a storm, as the autumn rain front affected the area throughout the day.

Despite the slightly challenging conditions, we went out for a refresher dive with our guests from Germany.

We started by reviewing how to set up the dive equipment, then practiced neutral buoyancy and other essential skills underwater.

Both guests did a great job, especially with their neutral buoyancy skills!

We finished the skills much faster than expected, so we had some time to enjoy a little fun diving as well.

Visibility at the beach was around 2m due to the swell, so it wasn't great, but we were still able to enjoy the underwater world more than we expected.

The conditions were definitely not ideal, but we still observed as much marine life as possible (^^)

The creature that got the biggest reaction was Decorated crab.

Even through their diving masks, we could see the surprised expressions on their faces. It was such a great reaction!!

It was their first dive in a year, so they seemed a little nervous at first, but we hope today's experience helps them relax and enjoy tomorrow's diving even more!!

Tomorrow, the typhoon is expected to move east, and the swell is also forecast to come from the eastern side.

If the forecast is correct, the swell around the Kushimoto area should be smaller than today....

Hopefully, the swell will calm down a little and the conditions will improve (>_<)

Tomorrow, we are planning to go boat fun diving from the morning.

We'll have an international group with both Japanese and overseas guests, and we'll enjoy diving safely while keeping a close eye on the conditions.

We've been battling typhoons a lot this year, but if there are no typhoon effects, the period from now until around November is a great season to observe many different kinds of marine life!!
