A Day of PADI Courses and Fun Diving in Kushimoto
Despite the forecast, we didn’t get much rain this weekend, and the sea stayed calm here in Kushimoto (^^)
We were worried that we might be diving in heavy rain, but luckily, there was nothing to worry about!
Today, we welcomed back a guest for their OW course, along with another guest continuing their AOW course from yesterday.
And of course, we also had a guest joining us for fun diving!
It was a busy day with lots of different diving activities!!
The water temperature was in the mid-26°C range, and the visibility improved dramatically to over 20 meters!!
The チョウチョウウオ were looking great again today!! We usually see them until around September each year.
We may not have much longer to enjoy them this season, so let’s enjoy them while they are still here!!
We have been seeing many イロブダイyg this year. This one has grown quite a bit, and its range seems to be getting wider.
Today, we found it quite far away from the place where we had seen it before.
It is now about 3 cm in size, making it easy to spot while still keeping its cute pattern♪
The タツノイトコ that has been staying with us for a long time is still here too.
It moves around little by little but has stayed in roughly the same area.
Hopefully, it will make it through the swell from the next typhoon as well.
We also found some nudibranchs, including オトヒメウミウシ.
This summer, I’ve been paying more attention to searching for nudibranchs, and I’ve realized once again that there are actually quite a few around (^^)
Since the Kuroshio Current has returned, we have been seeing this nudibranch about as often as when I first started diving in Kushimoto.
We’re also hoping to see more nudibranchs from southern waters, so I’ll keep paying close attention to them on our dives!
This weekend was also a very special one for us, as we welcomed a newly certified diver and a newly certified Advanced Open Water Diver!!

There was a little break during the course, which may have made things more challenging, but our guest was already relaxed enough to give us a peace sign underwater!
We were surprised by how comfortable they looked for a newly certified diver!!

It was such a great day to see Japanese and international divers connecting through scuba diving.
It also made me really happy to feel that our dive shop is becoming a place where divers from Japan and overseas can meet and enjoy diving together (^^)
Since September began, we have gradually been receiving more inquiries about diving courses.
With some warm clothing for your time out of the water, it is still possible to dive in a wetsuit through October.
