AOW Course & Fun Diving in Kushimoto

It was rainy this morning, but the sun started to come out in the afternoon, making it a warm day here in Kushimoto.

The water temperature is still holding at 26–27°C. Visibility dropped a little, but the conditions were still comfortable for diving.

Today, we had two programs: the final dive of an AOW course that started yesterday, and fun diving.

Our guest from Israel visited us because he wanted to complete his AOW certification while traveling in Japan.

And today, he successfully completed his AOW certification! (^^)

Congratulations!!!!

In the afternoon, I headed out for one-on-one fun diving with a guest from Switzerland.

On our first afternoon dive, we found the Warty frogfish again! We thought it had disappeared, so it was great to see it back♪

When we saw it again after a while, it looked like its color was becoming more yellow.

We’re not sure whether it was the same individual, but it returned with a different color !!

After seeing the Warty frogfish, our guest was apparently talking with a friend on the phone. When he told his friend about this fish, the friend said, “It sounds like a strange Pokémon.” Haha!

Now that they mention it, I can actually imagine a Pokémon like this existing. What a great way to describe it!

For our final dive, we went searching for sea turtles at our guest’s request.

At first, we couldn’t find any, and I was starting to get a little worried. But after searching for a while, we finally found one!!

It was a very large individual and looked to be around 1 meter long. (^^)

However, this turtle didn’t seem accustomed to divers and quickly swam away, so unfortunately we couldn’t get a photo...

Three dives in calm seas today. Since the beginning of this month, we’ve been welcoming more and more guests from overseas.

Maybe word is starting to spread that September and October are great months for diving in Kushimoto??

Tomorrow, we’ll be diving with more guests from overseas. We have a refresher course, boat diving, and even a night dive planned — a full day of diving from morning until night!!

And starting tomorrow, the seasonal dive site ”Ando-no-hana" will open for a limited time!!

As we move further into the season, the schools of fish around Kushimoto will continue to grow.
