Another International Day of Fun Diving in Kushimoto
Today was another international day here in Kushimoto!
In the morning, we went diving with a guest from Greece. In the afternoon, we welcomed guests from the United States and Japan.
With a typhoon approaching Okinawa, more international travelers have been coming to Kushimoto!
I hope Kushimoto becomes more and more well known among divers from around the world.
The swell has finally started to affect our boat diving sites.
Visibility is still good, but we occasionally felt some bigger swells underwater.
According to the forecast, today should be the peak of the swell, so we hope the conditions will start to calm down from tomorrow.
Today, we found another rare species — Blackfin coral goby!
It was a cute little one, about 1 cm in size♪
It was moving around between the branches of the coral, which made it difficult to photograph.
But its tiny body and big eyes were incredibly cute.
Hopefully, it will make it safely through the swell.
This is also the season when we start seeing more juvenile fish.
One we have been seeing quite often recently is Mayer's dragonet. Many of them are around 1 cm in size.
We have been seeing a lot of southern species this year.
We may soon start seeing Blue Tang, the fish that inspired Dory, too.
And on our final boat dive of the day, a huge Spotted moray eel appeared!!!
One of our guests actually shouted, “WOW!!” underwater. 😂
We were so happy to see them enjoying the dive!
Every time our guests finish their dives with a smile and say thank you, we feel relieved and happy.
We will continue working to improve our service so that everyone who dives with us can go home smiling and thinking, “That was so much fun!”
September is only a few days away, and we are gradually receiving more inquiries for September.
We have a feeling that even more rare southern species may appear in September and October.
Autumn is the time of year when the underwater world in Kushimoto becomes especially lively, so come and enjoy diving with us!
