Fun Diving with Guests from the USA, Finland, and Kushimoto
Another beautiful day here in Kushimoto! (^^)
We started to feel some swell from the typhoon in the afternoon, but visibility was still around 20 meters, and the water temperature was above 28°C.
Today, we split into two teams for fun diving.
One team was with a guest who lives in Kushimoto and came to get back into diving after a break.
The other team was with international guests who had planned to visit Okinawa but had to change their plans because of the typhoon.
This week, we have received many inquiries from international travelers who seem to have originally planned to visit Okinawa.
As a result, we have become quite busy this week.
Today’s international guests were from the USA and Finland.
It was actually our first time welcoming a guest from Finland!
It feels like we are another step closer to becoming a place where divers from all over the world come together♪
Our guests told us they liked big fish and schools of fish, so we focused mainly on wide-angle diving.
We saw Blue spotted stingray, some large Japanese spiny lobster, and more.
Everyone told us they had a great time! (^^)
When guests choose Kushimoto as an alternative to Okinawa and leave with big smiles, it is both a relief and something that makes us very happy♪
On our final dive, we were even able to swim with an Green sea turtle, and everyone was very happy! (^^)

Kushimoto is a place where you can swim with sea turtles.
Of course, the typhoon was beyond anyone’s control, but we are truly happy that situations like this can give international visitors an opportunity to discover the ocean of Kushimoto.
Today’s Green sea turtle was used to people, so we were able to take photos of it together with each guest.
Just like some of the fish here, having sea turtles that are comfortable around divers is one of the great things about diving in Kushimoto.
Although we mainly focused on wide-angle diving, we also introduced some macro life along the way.
Among the various macro creatures we showed them, the Harlequin shrimp was especially memorable for our guests.
They were particularly impressed to learn that this shrimp eats starfish and to see that the starfish they normally see had been reduced to just its legs.
Meanwhile, our other team focused mainly on macro diving.
We saw Trapania SP, young Long nose hawkfish, and more.
With one-on-one guidance, our guest enjoyed two relaxed dives while gradually getting comfortable with their diving skills again♪
The original plan was to finish after two dives, but our guest enjoyed the ocean of Kushimoto so much that they said they wanted to do a third dive!
Hearing that made us really happy♪
The best season for diving in Kushimoto is still continuing, so September and October are highly recommended for fun diving! (^^)
