Fun Diving and Discover Scuba Diving in Kushimoto
Only one more day remains in the second half of the Obon holiday period.
Thanks to all of our guests, our dive shop has been busy and lively every day♪
Today, we split into a fun diving team and a Discover Scuba Diving team and enjoyed another great day in the waters of Kushimoto.
Great Visibility and Schools of Fish at the Offshore Dive Sites
Our fun diving team headed out to the offshore area in the morning.
Visibility was 15–20 meters, and the water temperature was around 27.5°C.
The conditions were excellent!
Our first offshore dive of the morning was full of fish♪
Soon after we started the dive, we were welcomed by a huge school of Green fish.
Below the school, Blue spotted Grouper were swimming around, looking for their chance to catch them.
The fish were very active in the morning!
As we continued the dive, we found a school of Chicken Grunt near the bottom, with Rainbow runner swimming above them.
Combined with the great visibility, it made for an amazing dive. (^^)
One of our guests even said it might have been their best dive recently!
The beautiful blue water of Kushimoto is back, and the visibility looks like it is getting better and better!!
From Big Schools of Fish to Small Marine Life
On our second dive, after enjoying various schools of fish in the offshore area, we spent some time looking for smaller marine life.
We found Boxer crab, one of the popular creatures at Kushimoto’s offshore dive sites.
With the warmer water, we are starting to see larger individuals.
The Boxcer crab held in its claws look like cheerleader pom-poms, which makes this little crab very popular with divers!
On top of a shallow reef, we also found Mimoblennius atrocinctus peeking out from its hole.
There was some swell, but perhaps something had caught its attention?
It kept its head out and looked around the whole time.
The swell was even blowing the skin flaps on its head sideways!（笑）
We wonder what it was so interested in??
A Sleepy Sea Turtle at Our Local Dive Site
In the afternoon, we headed to one of the local dive sites.
The visibility here was also excellent and just as good as the offshore area.
We were lucky enough to find a sea turtle sleeping in an unexpected spot.
The Green sea turtle had its eyes closed and stayed completely still.
Even when we approached, it looked so sleepy and kept dozing off.
It was such a cute moment♪
We also found several other marine creatures, including the slightly unusual Mimoblennius atrocinctus and Blue spotted stingray.
It was a fun day with three very different dives!
Looking for Nudibranchs During Discover Scuba Diving
Meanwhile, one of the groups joining our Discover Scuba Diving program told us that they love nudibranchs.
The Sagaminopteron psychedelicum we found yesterday was still there, so they were able to see it during their dive♪
Even during Discover Scuba Diving, we do our best to accommodate our guests’ interests and help them enjoy the underwater world of Kushimoto as much as possible!
Tomorrow is the final day of the Obon holiday period.
Once again, we will split into a Discover Scuba Diving team and a fun diving team and enjoy another day in the waters of Kushimoto!!
Weekdays after the Obon holiday period can be a good time to visit.
We still have availability for fun diving and Discover Scuba Diving on some days.
