An International Dive Team from the UK, Taiwan & Japan
Typhoon No. 15 passed through Japan today, but we had nice weather and not much wind, making it feel like a perfect day for diving♪
There is still some swell underwater, but the water temperature is 28–29°C, and the visibility is gradually improving.
Today, we split into two teams.
In the morning, one team started with a beach refresher dive, while the other went boat diving.
In the afternoon, we went fun diving and Discover Scuba Diving.
Searching for Tiny Nudibranchs in Kushimoto
Our fun diving team enjoyed looking for everything from large fish to nudibranchs.
Our guest from Taiwan loves nudibranchs, so during the first half of our final dive, we spent some time searching for them.
Even with the swell, we found several different nudibranchs in about 10 minutes.
Most of them were about the size of a grain of rice, but there are still plenty of nudibranchs to find if you look carefully.
One of them was Murphydoris puncticulata.
It was probably around 1 mm in size!（笑）
Nearby, we also found a well-camouflaged Jorunna daoulasi.
It was holding on through the swell while feeding.
The water temperature is high, but some nudibranchs are still doing well（＾＾）
We were wondering if the recent typhoon swell had caused Long nose hawkfish to disappear.
Fortunately, it is still here and has grown quite a bit during its long stay!
With the water temperature now above 28°C, Anthiasfish and Damselfish are becoming more active, and the underwater world is getting livelier!
Once the visibility improves, Kushimoto will be back to its best diving season♪
Summer Diving Continues in Kushimoto
With the summer holiday season in full swing, we have lots of Discover Scuba Diving and fun diving coming up from tomorrow♪
We’ll do our best to help everyone visiting during this period fall in love with the underwater world of Kushimoto!!
Tomorrow, we are planning to split into a fun diving team and a Discover Scuba Diving team.
Things usually get a little quieter once September begins.
If you prefer relaxed, unhurried diving, late August to early September is recommended.
