Enjoying Discover Scuba Diving with the Family Before the Typhoon Swell Arrived
Today in Kushimoto, the water temperature was 27.2°C and visibility ranged from 5 to 8 meters.
We enjoyed a Discover Scuba Diving program before the typhoon swell reached the coast.
Today we welcomed a family who came to dive with us.
They had actually booked with us last year, but their trip had to be canceled due to the tsunami caused by the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula.
This year, they finally made it back to Kushimoto for their long-awaited return.
We were also keeping an eye on the approaching typhoon, but fortunately we were able to complete the dive before the swell became stronger.
The parents had not dived for about 15 years, but once they entered the water, they looked very comfortable.
Their diving skills came back surprisingly quickly, proving that they hadn't forgotten everything after all.
The children were a little nervous at first, but they quickly became comfortable underwater.
By the second half of the dive, they were even controlling their own buoyancy.
It was hard to believe they were Discover Scuba Divers!
They will also have the chance to try Discover Scuba Diving during their school trip to Okinawa.
After today's experience, they're more than ready for it!
During the dive, we also found a ゾウリエビ (Scientific name is currently being confirmed.).
One funny moment was when the ゾウリエビ decided to cling to the father's BCD.
Everyone had a great laugh while watching this unexpected underwater scene.
Visibility was around 5 to 8 meters because many divers were enjoying the beach today, but the family still had a great time observing a variety of fish and experiencing Kushimoto's summer sea together.

We are scheduled to hold another Discover Scuba Diving program tomorrow, although the swell from Typhoon No. 13 is expected to increase in the morning.
We hope we can safely complete the dive before the conditions change.
According to the current forecast, sea conditions are expected to worsen due to the typhoon swell between August 5 and August 8.
We will continue to monitor the conditions and contact all guests with reservations during that period.
We still have availability for Fun Diving from August 14 to 16.
