Enjoying Schools of Fish Offshore and Beautiful Coral Reefs in Summer Kushimoto
Today’s conditions in Kushimoto were excellent, with a water temperature of 25.4–29.0°C and visibility of 12–15 meters.
The warm summer sea continues, offering dynamic offshore diving and beautiful coral reefs at the beach sites.
This morning, we split into two teams for fun diving, with one team diving offshore and the other at nearby sites.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a Discover Scuba Diving program with a returning guest.
The offshore sites had some current near the surface, but underwater the current was moderate and very comfortable.
Large schools of Greenfish reacted instantly whenever Blue spotted Grouper moved through them, creating an impressive underwater scene.
It was a great opportunity to enjoy swimming together with schools of fish in Kushimoto’s offshore waters.
During the second dive, we also encountered schools of Greater amberjack and Rainbow runner making it a fantastic dive for wide-angle enthusiasts.
Offshore diving is not only about large marine life.
Today we also found the popular Boxer crab.
It was sitting quietly beneath an Christmas tree warm, making it perfectly positioned for photography.
Later in the first dive, we discovered four Tiger snake eel sharing the same hole.
It was the first time I had ever seen four individuals in one place.
Whether they were peacefully sharing the space or quietly competing for it, it was fascinating to watch.
Just before exiting the water, we also came across a juvenile fish that we could not identify.
We only had a short time to observe it, but we hope to encounter it again in the future.
In the afternoon, we guided a returning guest who had previously joined our Discover Scuba Diving program.
Because they had practiced during their previous visit, they were very comfortable in the water this time.
Since it was their second Discover Scuba Diving experience, we visited a site with beautiful coral reefs.
Surrounded by colorful corals and plenty of fish, they thoroughly enjoyed the underwater scenery that Kushimoto is known for.
We’re also delighted that they plan to take the Open Water Diver course on their next visit.
It always makes us happy when someone discovers a love for diving through a Discover Scuba Diving experience.
Yesterday, Kushimoto held its annual summer fireworks festival.
One of the unique attractions of summer here is enjoying diving during the day and watching fireworks by the sea in the evening.
