Enjoy Kushimoto’s Summer Ocean with Fun Diving and Discover Scuba Diving
Summer is in full swing in Kushimoto, and today we headed out with both our fun diving team and our discover scuba diving team to enjoy the ocean.
With sunny skies and warm temperatures, it was another perfect day for diving.
The water is now warm enough to dive comfortably in a wetsuit, whether you’re exploring the beach or heading out to the boat dive sites.
Visibility reached around 10–15 meters, and the clear blue water was full of colorful marine life.
Our discover scuba diving guests joined us for two dives, giving them plenty of time to experience Kushimoto’s underwater world.
Both divers were incredibly comfortable in the water from the very beginning.
They quickly gained confidence and enjoyed swimming over coral reefs while observing a variety of tropical fish.
By the second dive, they looked like certified divers already!
We hope this experience inspires them to continue diving in the future.
Our fun diving guests included returning divers who have been diving with us for years, as well as guests who first visited shortly after our shop opened.
Some of them had not been diving for a while, but our small-group style allowed everyone to relax and regain their confidence at their own pace.
If it has been some time since your last dive, Kushimoto is a great place to get back into the water.
Summer marine life is becoming more active every week.
Today we found a tiny Japanese inflator filefish, only about 1 cm long. Its large eyes and tiny body made it one of the cutest fish of the day, and we hope to see even more juveniles as the season continues.
Our resident Harlequin shrimp was also still around.
Although it looked a little smaller than before, it was happily feeding on a large sea star. We look forward to watching it continue to grow.
We also started seeing more nudibranchs again.
Today’s highlights included a tiny nudibranch andVerconia simplex .
Although summer is famous for schools of fish, macro lovers can still discover plenty of fascinating small marine life.
Our final highlight was a larger-than-usual Lesson's thicklip.
We usually see only very small juveniles, so it will be exciting to see whether this individual continues growing into an adult.
