A Family from Denmark Enjoyed Their First Discover Scuba Diving Experience
The rainy season has finally ended in the Kansai region.
As if to celebrate the start of summer, Kushimoto welcomed us with warm sunshine and a true midsummer atmosphere.
Although we were keeping an eye on the approaching typhoon, the sea was still calm today.
On this perfect diving day, we had the pleasure of taking a family from Denmark on their very first scuba diving experience.
The two boys had been looking forward to it so much that they were excited from the moment we met!
They asked us lots of questions about scuba diving, and I found myself getting even more enthusiastic while explaining everything.
The boys adapted incredibly quickly and mastered their underwater buoyancy in no time.
Normally, we start in shallow water and help guests get comfortable before gradually moving deeper.
However, as soon as they entered the water, they were welcomed by Grass puffer and Indo-Pacific sergeant.
Their nervousness disappeared almost instantly, and before long they were happily searching for fish on their own.
Denmark is located in Northern Europe, where the sea is much colder than in Japan.
For the boys, Kushimoto’s warm ocean filled with colorful marine life felt like paradise!
One of the regular welcoming committees during our beach discover scuba dives is a large group of Grass puffer.
While we were practicing in the shallow water, dozens of them gathered around our feet.
After such a friendly welcome, any nervousness quickly disappeared.
In Kushimoto, many fish come surprisingly close, making it easy to observe them from nearby.
Some people think that discover scuba diving in shallow water means there isn’t much marine life.
But don’t underestimate beach diving.
Even during a discover scuba dive from the beach, you can see an amazing variety of fish and other marine life.
Today we were also lucky enough to find a Big Blue Octpus.
If you’re wondering whether shallow water has anything interesting to see, there’s no need to worry!
The rich marine life made such a strong impression that, even though the boys had only planned to do one dive, one of them asked, “What are we going to do during the break?” as soon as we finished.
It was easy to tell he wanted to dive again, and I found myself wishing I could have taken him for another dive.
Why not make your first scuba diving experience one of the highlights of your trip to Japan?
Even if you’ve never dived before, we begin in shallow water and guide you step by step at your own pace.
Kushimoto’s beautiful underwater world and abundant marine life will surely become one of the most unforgettable memories of your visit to Japan.
We’re very happy that more and more guests are visiting us from all over the world.
To celebrate that, we’ve put up a world map in our shop where we can mark each guest’s home country.
It’s exciting to watch the map slowly fill with countries from around the world!
We hope Aqua Vista Kushimoto will continue to be a place where people from Japan and around the world can connect through diving.
When people share the same passion for diving, friendships begin surprisingly quickly.
Our dream is to share the beauty of Kushimoto’s ocean with the world.
True to our name, Sea Side Dive Hub, we’ll continue improving our service and welcoming divers from every corner of the globe.
Tomorrow morning we’ll be taking another group of international guests on a discover scuba dive, followed by fun diving with Japanese guests in the afternoon.
Let’s hope the typhoon swell stays away!
See you underwater!
