Kushimoto Diving: Discover Scuba, Open Water Course & Fun Diving

From Beach Diving to Boat Diving – A Fantastic Day in Kushimoto

The day began with light rain, but by the afternoon the weather had improved, and the sea remained calm throughout the day.

It was another fantastic day in Kushimoto, with Discover Scuba Diving, an Open Water course, and fun diving all taking place in excellent conditions.

Our morning Discover Scuba Diving guests visited one of Kushimoto’s beautiful coral reef sites.

They had joined us once before in May, so this time we took them to a different dive site. One guest is already a certified diver and brought an underwater camera to capture the experience.

The first-time diver also did an excellent job. By the end of the dive, they were confidently swimming around and enjoying the underwater world.

Thank you very much for visiting us again. We look forward to welcoming you back to Kushimoto!

After that, we divided into two groups—our Open Water course students and our fun diving guests.

The fun diving group started the day in crystal-clear water with visibility of up to 20 meters.

The water temperature has risen quickly, and we could really feel the influence of the Kuroshio Current during our dives.

At one of the more exposed sites, we spotted Swallow batfish. Thanks to the warm Kuroshio Current, Kushimoto is home to many tropical fish.

One of Kushimoto’s greatest attractions is its remarkable diversity of marine life.

From tropical species to temperate marine life, every dive offers something different, making Kushimoto a fascinating destination for divers of all experience levels.

Macro marine life has also become more abundant recently.

One of today’s highlights was Neopetrolisthes maculatus, hiding among the tentacles of a sea anemone.

There is another individual carrying eggs in the same area, but it is extremely shy and quickly disappears into its hiding place. If you’re lucky enough to photograph it before it hides, its beautiful body pattern makes it a fantastic subject for macro photography.

The afternoon became even more international as a guest from Denmark joined us for the dives.

July has just begun, and we’re already happy to welcome divers from around the world to Kushimoto.

Our Open Water courses are becoming busier throughout July and August, but we still have some weekday availability in August.

Whether you’re interested in trying scuba diving for the first time, earning your Open Water certification, or joining us for fun dives, we’d love to welcome you to Kushimoto.

Tomorrow we’ll be back in the water with our guest from Denmark, sharing even more of Kushimoto’s incredible underwater world.

See you underwater!
