Refresh Diving with a Guest from the Netherlands
We welcomed a guest from the Netherlands for a refresh diving course today.
Although the wind was a bit strong, it was coming from the east, so conditions in the Kushimoto area remained comfortable for diving.
Underwater visibility and water conditions were similar to yesterday, making for another enjoyable day in the ocean.
Our first dive was a beach dive in shallow water filled with beautiful sunlight.
The coral community was glowing under the morning sun, creating a stunning underwater landscape.
Our guest had not dived for four years, but their buoyancy control was excellent.
It was hard to believe they had been away from diving for so long.
Many guests who join our refresh diving course arrive well prepared and quickly regain their confidence underwater.
This time of year, we are experiencing spring tides, and the water level becomes especially low at low tide.
As a result, sunlight reaches the shallow coral reefs more easily, creating beautiful scenes with rays of light shining across the reef.
Did you know that views like this can be enjoyed on the main island of Japan?
Kushimoto, located at the southernmost tip of Honshu, is blessed by the warm Kuroshio Current and is home to one of Japan’s most impressive coral communities.
For our second dive, we headed to a boat diving site. The ocean is gradually recovering after the recent typhoon, and marine life is returning to its normal rhythm.
One highlight of the day was finding a pair of Harlequin shrimp.
These beautiful shrimp are known for feeding on starfish, and it was wonderful to see them quietly living together while holding onto their meal.
Weekdays in June are often less crowded, making them a great time to enjoy relaxed diving in Kushimoto. Whether you are looking for a refresh diving course after a long break or simply want to enjoy fun diving in beautiful conditions, we would be happy to welcome you.
We look forward to seeing you in Kushimoto!
