First-Time Diving in Kushimoto! An Unexpected Encounter with a Green Sea Turtle

Discover Scuba Diving with a Guest from Canada

The sea was calm again today, making it a perfect day for diving in Kushimoto.

Today, we welcomed a guest from Canada for their very first discover scuba diving experience.

We headed to one of Kushimoto’s beautiful beach dive sites, known for its healthy coral reef.

With the tide being unusually low, the shallow conditions were ideal for a beginner’s first underwater adventure.

At first, our guest was a little nervous, which is completely normal for a first-time diver.

However, after spending some time underwater, they quickly became comfortable with breathing and moving around beneath the surface.

Before long, they were confidently swimming around and observing fish on their own.

By the end of the dive, she was even posing for photos with a big smile and a peace sign.

It was hard to believe that only a short time earlier they had been worried about not knowing how to swim underwater.

She equalized their ears without any problems and looked like a natural diver by the end of the experience.

We hope this first dive inspires them to continue exploring the underwater world in the future.

An Unexpected Green Sea Turtle Encounter

The biggest surprise of the day came during the dive itself.

While exploring a shallow area only about one meter deep, a Green Sea Turtle suddenly appeared right in front of us.

Before entering the water, we had been talking about how sea turtles are not something we often see during beach dives. Then, unexpectedly, one showed up!

Unfortunately, everything happened so quickly that we didn’t have time to take a photo.

However, it was a small juvenile turtle resting peacefully in the shallow water.

As soon as it noticed us, it quickly swam away, but it was an unforgettable moment and a lucky encounter for our guest.

Why Try Discover Diving in Kushimoto?

Some people wonder whether there is much to see during a beach dive.

In Kushimoto, the answer is definitely yes.

The beach dive sites are home to abundant marine life and beautiful coral reefs. In some areas, the scenery feels more like a tropical island than mainland Japan.

One of the unique attractions of Kushimoto is that you can experience colorful coral reefs and rich marine life without needing to fly to a tropical destination.

Even in shallow water, there is plenty to discover, making Kushimoto an excellent place for first-time divers.

If you are visiting Japan this summer and would like to experience the underwater world for the first time, we would love to welcome you.

We look forward to diving with you!
