Dry Suit Specialty Course & Fun Diving in Kushimoto with Guests from Japan and Europe!

More International Guests Are Coming to Dive with Us!♪

It was a chilly morning in Kushimoto today, but during the day, it was still warm enough to enjoy diving in a wetsuit.

However, if you're joining us for the first dive of the morning in a wetsuit, you'll definitely need something warm to wear before and after diving!

By the second dive, the sky was clear, the wind had stopped, and the sea was perfectly calm.

We enjoyed some fantastic diving conditions today, with one group doing the Dry Suit Specialty Course and another enjoying fun diving in Kushimoto!

Dry Suit Specialty Course with a Guest from Poland

Our morning guest came all the way from Poland!

She was originally planning to dive with us on Monday, but unfortunately, we had to cancel because of the typhoon.

Later, her travel plans changed, and she was able to book with us again.

We were really happy that she decided to give diving with us another chance!♪

After completing the open water training exercises for the Dry Suit Specialty Course, we also enjoyed a fun dive together.

And she successfully completed her Dry Suit Specialty certification! Congratulations! 🎉

In the afternoon, we also had a last-minute visit from a guest from Sweden, and we headed out for some fun diving!

We've been receiving more and more inquiries from international guests recently!

It's great to have that international atmosphere back at our dive shop! 😊

Checking on Marine Life After the Typhoon

During our afternoon fun dive, we checked on the marine life that had been living at our dive sites before the typhoon.

We were especially happy to find juvenile ribbon moray eel.

We hadn't been able to find it very often before the typhoon, so it was a relief to see that it had survived the rough conditions! 😊

More Nudibranchs Are Growing Bigger!

We've been seeing many different nudibranchs this year, and some of them are gradually getting bigger.

We've even started finding individuals around 10 cm in size!

One of the biggest today was Glossodoris hikuerensis.

It was sitting on its food, so we might be able to observe it in the same area for a while.

Without a dive light, its colors look quite plain.

But once you shine a light on it, you can see how beautiful its colors really are!

There are actually quite a few nudibranchs that look ordinary at first glance but reveal amazing colors under a light.

Next, we found Jorunna daoulasi, another nudibranch that's incredibly good at camouflage!

This one was around 4–5 cm long, making it a fairly easy size to observe.

However, it looks very similar to the sponge around it, so finding one takes a little practice!

The Phycocaris simulans Festival Continues!

Finally, we found Phycocaris simulans!

After the strong swells from Typhoon No. 30, I thought most of them might have disappeared.

But the Phycocaris simulans festival is still going strong!! 😆

By the way, the individual in this photo was only about 2–3 mm long! Haha!

I'll have to look for some bigger ones next time!

At some dive sites, the typhoon seems to have had little impact, and many of the marine creatures that were living there before are still doing well.

As the sea conditions settle down, I'm sure we'll start discovering even more marine life.

I'll keep my eyes open and continue searching for new discoveries underwater!
