PADI Open Water Diver Course Successfully Completed!
Today was another day of our Open Water Diver course in English with our guest from the USA!
On Day 2, we mainly focused on reviewing yesterday's skills and practicing the techniques needed to enjoy fun diving in the future.
Yesterday, our guest was struggling with hovering. But after changing the fins and adjusting the weight placement, the improvement was amazing! (^^)
Our guest improved so much that they could maintain the same depth both while swimming and while staying still!!!!
Maintaining balance underwater can be quite challenging. But once you get the hang of it, everything can suddenly become much easier!!

Yesterday, our guest often tried to use their hands to maintain balance, which actually made things more difficult. Once we corrected that, the improvement was incredible!
And here's the proof!
This photo was taken during the afternoon dive.
Sorry the image quality isn't perfect. It's a screenshot from a video...
But look at this!
Our guest was relaxed enough to ask me to take a photo with this fish and even made a peace sign for the camera!!!
It's hard to believe that yesterday was their very first time scuba diving! ^^
After spending two days diving together, I was honestly so happy with their progress that I almost cried♪
Our guest absolutely loves moray eels, so we spent time looking for them during both our beach and boat dives.
During the beach dive, we found ニセゴイシウツボ (Scientific name is currently being confirmed.).
At first, a huge school of ゴンズイ (Scientific name is currently being confirmed.) was blocking our view, making it difficult to see the eel.
But eventually, the school swam away, and we finally got a clear view!
I'll never forget hearing our guest shout "Wow!" underwater! (^^)
During the boat dive, I wanted to show our moray eel-loving guest something special, so I introduced the rare ハナヒゲウツボyg (Scientific name is currently being confirmed.).
At first, our guest gestured that they couldn't see it.
But as we slowly got closer, they finally spotted it!
And once again, I could hear a big "Wow!" underwater!!
We enjoyed two days of calm sea conditions and relaxed, one-on-one Open Water Diver training.
Of course, practicing all the required skills is essential. But with one-on-one training, it's also easier to adjust the course to each guest's needs and interests!
This time, we focused especially on improving buoyancy control.
Great job over these two days!!!
I hope you have an amazing time diving in Okinawa next!
Congratulations on becoming a certified Open Water Diver!!!
And please come diving with us again in Kushimoto while you're still in Japan!
