Fun Diving in Kushimoto – Two Teams Enjoying Macro and Wide-Angle Diving

Exploring Kushimoto with Insta360 and TG-7 Teams

The autumn rain front has been lingering over Japan this September, and we had heavy rain again this morning.

But the weather gradually improved throughout the day, and we even saw some sunshine toward the evening♪

Visibility remained at 10–12m, just like yesterday, and the water temperature was around 28°C. Underwater conditions have been better than we expected.

Today, we welcomed one guest with an Insta360 and another guest with a TG-series camera who wanted to focus on macro photography.
So, we split into two teams and enjoyed the sea of Kushimoto!!

On our first dive of the morning, a huge school of Scalpel Sawtail welcomed us — a perfect subject for the wide-angle team♪

Later, we also encountered a school of Butterflyfish and enjoyed diving in great underwater conditions.

I can only imagine how impressive that huge school would look on a 360-degree camera!

Meanwhile, the macro team enjoyed searching for a variety of small marine life, from nudibranchs to fish.

We started with a tiny Tenella shibogae, only about 1cm in size.

It stayed still on its food, which made finding a good angle for a photo quite challenging... But the more difficult it is, the more exciting the photography becomes!!

And just below it, we found a Long nose seahorse !!

We weren't even searching for one on the sandy bottom. Instead, it appeared in the unexpected location of an underwater arch!!!

When I saw it, I wondered if it had moved there to escape the swell??? (^^:)

We also introduced several other tiny nudibranchs, and at the end of the dive, our guests worked hard to photograph Paragobiodon echinocephalus !!

Both guests managed to capture them perfectly from the front and got some really cute shots (^^)

Look up and you can enjoy wide-angle scenes. Take your time and look closely, and there is plenty of macro life to discover. There is so much to see in Kushimoto right now.

The weather can change quickly at this time of year, but underwater conditions have remained stable and enjoyable.

Kushimoto benefits greatly from the Kuroshio Current, and it looks like these good underwater conditions may continue for a while!!
