Fun Diving in Kushimoto with a Guest from the USA
Yesterday, Kushimoto had rough seas and rain, but today was completely different.
The sun came out, the ocean calmed down, and it turned into a perfect day for diving.
Today, we went fun diving with a guest visiting from the United States.
We were really happy that they chose Kushimoto for their first diving experience in Japan♪
And as if the ocean was welcoming them, today’s dives gave us so many amazing encounters!!
On the first dive, we found a cute Spotfin frogfish♪

Special thanks to Iwasaki-san from Nanki Seamans Club for sharing the information with us!!
The second dive was incredible.
Right after entering the water, we were looking for Big-fin reef squid when suddenly a gigantic Spotted eagle ray appeared!!!!
It was so huge that for a second I honestly thought, “Wait… is that a manta?!”
I quickly called our guest over so they could see it too, and at the same time I tried filming a video…
But somehow I barely captured it(笑)

Can you see it…? There should be a faint silhouette in the footage(笑)
It’s a little easier to see in the video, so I’ll upload it to our Instagram Stories later(^^;)
Most importantly, our guest got a really good look at it, so that made me happy(^^)
And before we even had time to calm down from the excitement, an Green sea turtle appeared right after the Spotted eagle ray!!
A giant ray followed by a sea turtle… our guest had unbelievably good luck today.

After that, we were also able to properly see Big-fin reef squid, so everything we hoped to see on the second dive came true.
To make the day even more special, it was also our guest’s first time seeing a Octpus.
And the fact that it was a brooding individual made it even more amazing!!!

After the dives, our guest told us:
“It was my first time seeing so many different marine creatures in a single day!”
Hearing that made me really happy as a dive guide♪
They also said, “I’ll definitely come back again,” and I’m truly glad they enjoyed diving in Kushimoto so much.
Since April, we’ve been welcoming many guests from overseas.
The weather on land is getting warmer too, so maybe Kushimoto will become even more international from now on♪
A place where Japanese guests and overseas guests can dive together and connect through diving.
Little by little, that’s the kind of dive shop we are becoming.
We’re already starting to receive bookings for weekends in June.
If you are interested in fun diving or dive courses in Kushimoto, we recommend contacting us early♪
Tomorrow will be another fun diving day!!
We’ll continue enjoying the amazing ocean of Kushimoto, from macro to wide-angle encounters♪
See you underwater!
