Kushimoto Fun Diving – Bigfin Reef Squid Spawning Is Amazing Right Now

Enjoying a Relaxing Fun Dive in the Calm Waters of Kushimoto

The Kushimoto Diving Festival has successfully finished, and the ocean has returned to its peaceful weekday atmosphere.

Today, we enjoyed fun diving with guests who traveled all the way from the Kanto area.

The water temperature has stabilized around 22°C, and we are starting to see more divers switching to wetsuits.

Hopefully, the water will continue warming up little by little from here!

Over the weekend, we did not see many Bigfin Reef Squid spawning activities, but today was absolutely incredible!!!

Our guests were very happy to observe the large Big-fin reef squid at very close range.

We were even able to capture photos and videos of the spawning behavior!

We are not sure how long this amazing spawning activity will continue, so if you would like to see it, we highly recommend visiting soon.

The best timing is usually in the late afternoon. On weekdays, there is even a chance to observe them during afternoon two-dive trips.

As the water temperature rises, we are also starting to see more goby species around Kushimoto.

Today, we found Amblyeleotris yanoi again for the first time in a while.

This beautiful goby is very popular among underwater photographers because of its colorful tail.

We are planning to check more goby areas again soon!

Speaking of gobies, the long-staying Trimma anaima is still doing well too.

This usually shy goby has become very comfortable around divers and now makes a perfect photo subject without hiding.

If you would like to photograph this species, now is definitely a great chance while it is still staying in the area.

As the air temperature continues to rise, we have been receiving more inquiries for both weekdays and weekends.

The wetsuit season is becoming more and more comfortable from now on!

We are always accepting reservations for fun diving and introductory diving in Kushimoto.
