We welcomed guests from even more countries again today♪
Another beautiful day in Kushimoto♪
We had a very busy and thankful day with more guests joining us from the morning.
Today, we enjoyed 3 boat fun dives around the Kushimoto area.
At our first dive site, “Same no Hire,” the water temperature reached 24°C!!! Warm and very comfortable conditions.
The offshore area influenced by the Kuroshio Current is already comfortable in a wetsuit(^^)
Today’s guests were an international team — guests who enjoy underwater topography, guests who love wide-angle photography, and a first-time visitor to Japan from Dubai.
So today, we focused mainly on wide-angle diving!
Recently we had been doing a lot of macro diving, so it felt refreshing to search for marine life from a wider perspective again.
We usually imagine Banded boarfish disappearing during summer, but in recent years they have been seen throughout the year.
I wonder if we’ll be able to see them all year again this year?
We also found a seasonal surprise today — a Flat shark.
Seeing a Flat shark in 23〜24°C water is quite unusual.
Everyone gets excited when we encounter a big shark!!!
Although it has “shark” in the name, it is actually a flat shark that hides in the sand, so it looks quite different from what many people imagine.
Finding one at this time of year was rare and very lucky!
In between the wide-angle diving, we also enjoyed a little macro diving.
One favorite among many divers is the cute-looking Calvactaea tumida.
Today’s individual was only about 2cm in size.
Its pink body color also makes it a very popular crab(^^)
Last but not least is the large-sized macro favorite, Giant frogfish.
This individual was perfectly round like a ball.
It looked like it was carrying eggs.
That probably means there must be a male somewhere nearby too.
We did not have enough time to search today… but we will definitely try next time.
The weather had been beautiful for the past two days, but rain is expected from tomorrow.
Wind conditions also look stronger over the next couple of days, so the calm ocean conditions will take a short break.
Since the beginning of this year, we have welcomed both international guests and Japanese guests from many different countries around the world.
Every day, we enjoy guiding while hoping that the beauty of Kushimoto’s ocean is slowly reaching more people around the world.
Today, we welcomed guests from another new country, and another spot on our world map of visiting guests has been filled.
It would be amazing if we could someday dive with guests from every country in the world.
We still have availability on weekdays in June!
If you would like to enjoy relaxed diving in Kushimoto, weekdays in June are highly recommended!
