Hot Summer-Like Day in Kushimoto with Guests from Japan and France

Strong West Wind, but We Managed to Enjoy Great Diving Conditions

Another beautiful day in Kushimoto♪

Today, we enjoyed fun diving with guests from Japan and France in the Kushimoto area!!

The west wind started getting stronger before noon, so we decided to finish two dives in the morning.

The surface was a little rough, but underwater conditions were amazing♪

Water temperature was around 24°C, and visibility was over 20 meters!!!

The ocean was crystal clear and honestly felt almost like Okinawa♪

It was the first time diving in Japan for our guest from France, and they were very lucky with these conditions(^^)

On top of that, we had an incredible Big-fin reef squid spawning event!!!

The photos were taken from video footage, so the quality is slightly rough, but in reality the visibility was so clear that we could clearly see even the distant Big-fin reef squid.

It’s actually very rare to see the detailed body patterns of competing male squid this clearly during the spawning season, so the conditions were truly special♪

We ended up watching them together with our guests for almost 20 minutes(^^)

Right now, behavioral scenes like breeding and spawning are definitely the highlight of diving in Kushimoto.

Today, we also encountered two fish doing mouthbrooding side by side.

Usually, they swim as a male and female pair, but interestingly, these two were both males.

Maybe they were encouraging each other while protecting their eggs♪

At the end of the dive, we reunited with a tiny spotfin frogfish that we had not seen for a while.

This little fish moves around quite a lot and sometimes hides deep inside cracks in the rocks, so whether we can see it or not really depends on its mood.

Luckily today, it came back to an easy-to-see spot for us(^^)

However, it is only about 1.5 cm in size, so it can still be quite difficult to spot with the naked eye(^^;)

Now the weekend is starting.

Tomorrow is already fully booked — thank you very much everyone♪

We also have introductory diving scheduled the following day, and recently we have been receiving more inquiries little by little!!

However, there are still plenty of available spaces on weekdays in June.

If you would like to enjoy relaxed diving in Kushimoto, weekdays in June are highly recommended♪

See you then♪
