Fun Diving with Guests from Taiwan in Kushimoto

A Day of Refresh Beach Diving + Boat Fun Diving

After a busy weekend, the weather finally improved, and we headed out for a refresh diving session and boat fun diving with guests from Taiwan!

Since it had been about a year since their last dive, we started slowly at the beach to help them regain their skills and confidence before moving on to the boat dive.

Around the coral areas at the beach, we could already see more juvenile Butterflyfishes and Cardinalfish species gathering between the rocks and coral gaps. The fish population at the beach is definitely increasing as summer approaches.

At the boat points, more behavioral scenes and juvenile fish are starting to appear as well.

One of the highlights recently has been the mouthbrooding behavior of Ostorhinchus aureus. The fish in Kushimoto gradually become more comfortable with divers when visited regularly, making underwater photography easier day by day!

Today, we also discovered an adorable 1cm-sized Yellow boxfish  juvenile.

It was so tiny and cute that both the guest and I ended up staring at it for quite a while!

Seeing juveniles this small makes us excited for the coming weeks, as even more young fish should begin appearing soon.

Although the underwater world is steadily moving toward summer, nudibranchs are still doing very well.

Recently, we have continued seeing Hypselodoris bullockii  staying in exactly the same area every day. It’s always sitting in a spot where we wonder, “Is there really enough food there?” Maybe there is some hidden food source we cannot see. A very interesting individual to observe.

Tomorrow also looks like perfect diving weather.

We will welcome both Japanese guests and international guests for another international diving day in Kushimoto!

Looking forward to enjoying the ocean again tomorrow.

See you underwater!
