First Fun Dive After Certification in Kushimoto

From Beginner to Confident Diver in Just 1 Day

We had a guest from Singapore who just completed the Open Water course with us yesterday.
Today was their very first fun dive—day 3 of diving!

It was honestly surprising to see the change.
Just yesterday, they weren’t even a certified diver.
But today, he was already calm underwater and even checking his buddy’s air consumption.
That’s a huge step forward in such a short time.

Thinking back to my own Open Water course, the difference is quite impressive.
It really shows how much confidence and skill can improve with the right training and environment.

For this first fun dive, we explored Kushimoto’s ocean focusing on schools of fish and larger species like groupers.

A few days ago, we saw a massive school of Mullet fish,
but today, there were many Chicken Grunts swimming around.

The amount of fish is definitely increasing, and it feels like the ocean is slowly transitioning from spring to early summer.

At the end of the dive, we encountered a beautiful seasonal jellyfish—Olindias formosa..

Its colors are absolutely stunning.

Interestingly, some local guides can touch it without any reaction,
but it is said to have relatively strong venom in its tentacles.
So please do not touch it, even if it looks harmless.

Although the weather wasn’t perfect, our guests completed all three days of diving.

And surprisingly, their favorite part was… the warm bath we prepared using a gear tub after the dive!

As the season changes, more divers start using wetsuits.

Keeping warm between dives becomes very important to stay comfortable and enjoy your time in the water.

Thanks to that, everyone enjoyed two great dives today.

Tomorrow, we’ll continue with our international team for two morning fun dives here in Kushimoto.
Hoping for even better visibility!
