We enjoyed Photographing Barred-chin blenny in tide pool
Today we enjoyed tide pool diving in Kushimoto and spent time photographing Barred-chin blenny.
After yesterday’s spring storm, a strong swell remained in the ocean today.
Boat diving was still possible due to calm winds, but the conditions were not ideal for photography.
So we decided to avoid the swell and head to a very shallow area — the tide pools of Kushimoto.
Due to the heavy rain, the water temperature dropped slightly.
It felt a bit chilly with a light inner layer, but the warm air temperature made it comfortable overall.
We have been visiting this spot since last year, and today we found a new individual of Barred-chin blenny.
Little by little, the number of individuals available for photography is increasing.

The newly discovered one lives in an area with colors that resemble cherry blossoms.
It is a beautiful location where you can capture soft, spring-like images.
We continued searching for more, but the rocky area became too slippery due to the swell, so we decided to stop for safety.
Instead, we checked on the previously found individuals.

All of them were safe and healthy.
It is always impressive how they find protected spots even after rough conditions.
The next recommended timing is around the spring tide from April 16th to 19th.
We are available during these dates.
If you are interested in macro photography or a relaxed and shallow diving experience, this is a great opportunity.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
