Last Chance! Limited-Time Fun Diving at Uchiura Beach

Only a few days left to dive Uchiura Beach!

I was a bit busy yesterday evening and couldn’t update the blog…

So this is yesterday’s diving report, posted one day late.

Yesterday, we went to Uchiura Beach, which will be closed in less than a week.

The visibility yesterday was absolutely amazing!

We enjoyed everything from wide-angle scenes with dense schools of fish to macro subjects.

For wide-angle, the most impressive encounter was the Blue parrotdfish and Striped jack that we were informed about by Sakaguchi-san from Sue Diving Center.

They don’t let you get very close, so photographing them can be quite challenging.

But watching a large Blue parrotfish being cleaned by young striped jack was an incredible moment.

It’s one of those subjects that really makes you want to go back and try for a better shot!

Uchiura Beach will be closed on the 31st.

Last-minute dives are very welcome! Why not come and capture these moments together?

Of course, the macro life was also fantastic!

First, we found Japanese pygmy sea horse.

Since we talked about how difficult it can be to photograph, we took our time and practiced shooting it properly yesterday.

This is the perfect season for slow, careful photography thanks to smaller group sizes.

If you want to focus on photography, now is the best time.

We also found a hidden Arete dorsalis.

They are usually found living on Murasaki-uni, but this time it was hiding on a Rappa-uni.

The background made it a beautiful subject for photography.

Lastly, the iconic fish of Uchiura Beach — Yellow pigmy goby.

They can be found in bottles, shells, and even in symbiosis with Octpus, offering many different shooting variations.

March is almost over.

Starting in April, this beach will no longer be diveable, so if you’d like to dive here, please contact us as soon as possible.

Today, diving is canceled due to strong winds from last night.
