It was a rainy start this morning, but the weather improved throughout the day.
By the second dive, we had sunshine and much better conditions.
Today, we conducted a dry suit course with guests from Portugal and the UK.
Underwater conditions were very good, and the water temperature reached 20°C.
The temperature is rising quickly this year. It might even be comfortable to dive in a wetsuit during Golden Week.
Thanks to the Kuroshio Current, visibility at the beach improved dramatically.
It was slightly murky on Sunday, but today the water became crystal clear.

Both guests had prior dry suit experience. Although it had been a while and we started from the beach, they quickly regained their skills.
From the second dive, we moved to a boat dive and introduced some of Kushimoto’s typical marine life.
We have been observing Jaw fish for some time.

As the water temperature reached 20°C, it became more active and even showed defensive behavior. It may start holding eggs soon.
We also showed Long nose hawkfish on Sea fan. This individual has been settled in the same area for a long time, making it easy to photograph.

The colorful background makes it a favorite among underwater photographers.
Another highlight was Metapontonia fungiacola Bruce. Although this shrimp is usually very good at camouflage, this individual is quite large and easy to spot.

As we enter the cherry blossom season in March, we are receiving more inquiries from international guests.
We are also seeing increased interest in dry suit courses, and it looks like we will continue to welcome divers from around the world this year.
If you want to dive in mainland Japan but cannot travel to Okinawa, Kushimoto is a great option this season. Easy access by land makes it convenient for both international visitors and domestic divers.
Tomorrow, we will continue fun diving with the same guests and enjoy three dives in Kushimoto.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
