Today we enjoyed three dives at Uchiura Beach with a private guest.
The weather was beautiful again today.
Although the morning temperature was quite low, it became warm during the day and we had very comfortable diving conditions.
Uchiura Beach will close in about 20 days, so we are starting to see more divers who want to enjoy it one more time before the season ends.
Today we fully enjoyed three dives, from wide-angle to macro subjects.
For wide-angle photography, the highlight is definitely the massive school of Japanese jack mackerel and Black spot cardinal fish.

If you have never seen this fish school before, you should definitely experience it at least once.
The scale and energy are truly impressive.
Can you believe such a spectacular fish school can be seen in Wakayama?
We also visited Demon moray, which was identified as a distinct species not long ago.

The individual that used to stay with another has now become one, but we also found another large one at a different location. With the beautiful crinoid nearby, it makes a great wide-angle subject.
Uchiura Beach is also known as a “super beach” for macro life. If you carefully search the sandy bottom, you can find many yproidea liodactyla.

Even with a compact camera, you can capture beautiful photos once you learn the technique.
If you want to practice macro photography, this month and April are the perfect timing.
Just like Kushimoto, nudibranchs are increasing here as well. Today we found Elysia atroviridis, a species often seen in early spring.
We also encountered Diaphorodoris mitsuii and Goniobranchus sinensis close to each other.
- Elysia atroviridis
- Goniobranchus sinensis
Spring is a great season for nudibranch diving, and the peak season will likely be this month and next month.
There are still many days when we can guide divers privately, so if you would like to practice underwater photography or simply enjoy rich marine life, we would be happy to welcome you to Kushimoto.
Tomorrow we will be fun diving in the Kushimoto area.
