Perfect Conditions for Macro Diving ♪

The ocean is starting to feel like spring!

Today we did one afternoon fun dive with a guest who arrived in the afternoon.

It was their first day, so we enjoyed a relaxed fun dive in the Kushimoto area.

Thanks to the influence of the Kuroshio Current this year, the water temperature has remained relatively high. It feels like the ocean is shifting into spring conditions a bit earlier than usual.
As the season progresses, the variety of marine life we can see is also increasing.

Today we focused on observing some seasonal creatures that represent this time of year.

One highlight is Sporochnus dotyi .

In the deeper areas, they are gradually growing, and some spots are already becoming quite impressive. It looks like they may reach their best condition by the end of this month.

We have also started seeing more Goniobranchus roboi this month.

Personally, it always feels like a species that appears in early spring.

The underwater world is steadily moving toward spring.

And then… hopefully it will stay for another week…Mexichromis aurora.

This individual is great because it shows its whole body clearly.

I would really love for our guests to see it. Since we’ve received requests to find it, we are continuing to observe it as much as possible. As of today, it is still there.

Some creatures are increasing, while others continue to stay in the same place.

Long nose hawkfish are currently staying in several locations.

For divers who often dive in Kushimoto, this fish has already become a familiar “regular member.” However, seeing it in shallow areas is actually quite lucky.

In the past, it was mainly seen in offshore areas at around 30 meters depth.

So make sure to take a good look now, so you won’t regret missing it later!

Tomorrow we are heading out on a trip to diving site named Uchiura-beach, which will close for the season later this month.

It’s a fantastic beach site where you can enjoy everything from wide-angle scenes to macro life.

Since the season is almost over, we’re planning to enjoy three dives there tomorrow!

If you are thinking, “I want to dive this dive point this season!”

please feel free to contact us.

It tends to get crowded toward the end of the month, so next week is probably the best chance to enjoy it more quietly.

We are also planning many other activities this year, including expedition tours and tide pool tours.

If anything catches your interest, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

See you in the next update!
