Today we enjoyed boat fun diving in the Kushimoto area.
Yesterday we made a trip to Uchiura Beach, but today we returned to Kushimoto. The visibility had recovered nicely and the swell had almost disappeared, creating very comfortable diving conditions.
We spent the day enjoying relaxed macro diving with our guests.
Today’s divers included a guest on their third day with us and another guest visiting from overseas. It was a fun international diving team.
During the first dive of the morning, we found a beautiful Giant frogfish just before finishing the dive.
Underwater, it looked pure white and absolutely stunning.

I may have never seen one with such a beautiful color before. Hopefully it will stay around for a while.
After that, we also found a great seasonal combination of
Martensia jejuensis and Aplysia japonica.

More Martensia jejuensis with egg capsules are appearing, which means the spawning scene might happen soon. But that moment depends on perfect timing. If we manage to capture it, we will definitely share it on the blog!
While we have been seeing more nudibranchs recently, crustaceans are also increasing. Today we found a shiny Miropandalus hardingi.

Its glossy body looked so perfect that it almost didn’t look like a real creature — more like a tiny underwater figure.
The cherry blossom season is also getting closer.
Tomorrow we will enjoy fun diving in Kushimoto in the morning and Japanese Giant Salamander diving in the river in the afternoon.
Ocean in the morning and river in the afternoon — enjoying two completely different diving environments in one day is a special experience you can have in this area.
If you are visiting Wakayama or the Kumano Kodo area, feel free to contact us and join us for diving in Kushimoto!
