Westerly Winds, but Another Beautiful Day Underwater♪
On the last weekend of August, we had two teams enjoying fun diving, followed by a Discover Scuba Diving session in the afternoon.
With guests from Japan, China, and Hong Kong, it was another international day here in Kushimoto!
Just like yesterday, the visibility was amazing!! At certain times of the day, it was over 20 meters, and the water temperature was above 28°C.
The conditions have been fantastic!!
During our fun dives, we have been finding more and more rare marine life recently.
First up was another newly found juvenile Bicolour parrotfish.
How many of them are around here now???
They can be difficult to find, but many of them are around 1 cm in size, making them very cute and easy to observe.
If you want to see one, now is a great chance♪
Right next to it, we found a Miamira flavicostata for the first time in a while.
This one was also a cute little individual, around 2 cm in size♪
Its purplish coloration was really beautiful!!
But it looked like it might be missing its head….
Maybe something had eaten it??
This summer has been a paradise for nudibranch lovers, and we are finding many different species.
One that we are seeing a lot right now is Sagaminopteron psychedelicum.
On some dives, we find 3–5 individuals in a single dive.
During our last dive today, one of our guests even found one by themselves(^^)
If you love nudibranchs but have never tried diving in a drysuit, now is a great opportunity.
We can still dive in wetsuits until October!!
Requests for nudibranch hunting are always welcome♪
During the afternoon fun dive, Sayo’s team found a Warty frogfish!!!
It has been a while since we last saw one!!
Hopefully, it will stay around for a long time.
Our next boat diving day will be in three days….
Will it still be there??
