This morning, we enjoyed a beach introductory dive.
Today is the second day of the three-day weekend, and it’s also the award ceremony for the 34th Kushimoto Underwater Photo Contest. The winners will finally be announced today—who will take the Grand Prize?!
Before heading to the ceremony, we had a great time with an introductory dive at the beach. The Kushimoto side still had some swell, so we moved to Izumo Beach.
Even there, the Fukuronori seaweed was absolutely incredible!

Right now, the beach areas in Kushimoto are covered in a carpet of Fukuronori. It’s a unique seasonal !
you can only see if you dive the beach at this time of year.
During the dive, we also did a bit of nudibranch searching. Since it was an introductory dive, we focused on finding larger ones.
Nudibranchs are often called the “jewels of the sea.”
If you’d like to see them during your introductory dive, you’re more than welcome to join us!
Until Golden Week, it’s a great chance to enjoy introductory diving with a private guide or in a small group.
If you’re visiting Kushimoto, come and experience diving with us.
Certified fun divers are, of course, very welcome too!
Now, we’re off to the photo contest award ceremony!
