Everyone Enjoyed Diving in the Rain

Today, a tropical disturbance passed through the area.

The morning was calm, but heavy rain and strong winds arrived in the afternoon.

As I’m writing this blog, the wind and rain are still quite intense!

Even in these challenging conditions, today was all about Discover Scuba Diving.

Our guests were a tough group who didn’t let the weather bother them at all.

They looked like they were having a great time underwater.

The ocean was still feeling some effects from the recent storm, but that didn’t seem to matter to these four guests!

Next time, we hope they can experience Kushimoto’s underwater world on a sunny day with even better conditions.

Later in the day, we headed out for more Discover Scuba Diving. We had two Discover Scuba Diving sessions today.

We are truly grateful to all the guests who joined us despite the weather.

Both groups were international guests currently living in Japan.

Thank you very much for diving with us, and we hope to see you again in Kushimoto.

We would also like to share a few photos from last night’s night dive.

The beach dive site has changed significantly due to the recent storm.

Perhaps because of those changes, we encountered a wandering Spotfin frogfish while exploring the area.

It is a resilient little fish that managed to withstand the storm!

Night diving also gives us the chance to observe fish displaying completely different colors and patterns from what we see during the day.

One example is Bluespotted cornetfish. When sleeping at night, it develops distinctive striped markings.

Next week may be the beginning of the coral spawning season.

Night diving in Kushimoto becomes even more exciting at this time of year.

If conditions are right, there is even a chance to witness coral spawning, making this one of the best seasons for night diving.

Tomorrow, we are scheduled for Fun Diving.

Although we are now in the rainy season, rain has very little effect underwater.

In fact, diving is one of the best outdoor activities to enjoy even on rainy days.
